I recently replaced the right blower motor in my xj6. In order to do so, I had to "swap" the wiring harness from the old one to the replacement as the new one was a larger sized fitting. The wires were all the same color and rating.

The problem is this. After I installed the replacement motor and tried to run the heater the blower immediately blew a fuse... and continues to do so every time.

I don't know what to look for, PLEASE HELP!!!

Then it is wired wrong. If it blows the fuse you have a short to ground. It will then blow fuse A2 which is also the fuse that runs your boot release you are having problems with

The boot was problematic before this happened, but I got your info and will follow your instructions. Thanks!

Should it matter that I swapped the harnesses for the blower? (aside from making sure that wiring is correct?)

As long as they are all in the proper places, the connector doesnt matter
