1984 Jaguar XJ6 ditributor shaft bearings?

just bought it, told it needs bearings under distributor. have done alot of do it myself, would like to do this, any one have any info, advice or cautions? thankx, James aka TAZ

With out the proper tools it might be a little tough rebuilding your existing dist. You might opt for a rebuilt or a used one. Which ever way you decide to go, be sure scribe or somehow mark the base of your old dist. at the block and the direction of the rotor so you get the replacement unit in exactly the same way as the old one came out.
