My 2004 Jaguar X Type makes a soft whirring noise when driving and when reving the engine in park. I have had 3 different mechanics ride with me and 1 repair garage put the car up on a hoist and had me rev the engine.
2 mechanics could not hear the noise, 1 said it was too faint to tell where it was coming from.
I just had new rear brakes and a new rear diff installed. It is louder from the driver seat. My kids don't hear it the back seat and it is less loud from the front passenger seat. This noise drives me crazy, I like the car but I am looking for a non Jag replacement.
