My 2000 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas has issues, about 3 weeks ago I was driving on the highway and tried to signal a driver with my brights that it was okay to pass me and the electrical in my car shut down completely. It came back a minute later however and I kept up my drive into work.
I tried to repeat the issue to no avail. I drove it fine for another 3 weeks and then this last Monday I went out to start my car for work and the stearing wheel kept adjusting by itself and there is a non-engine related ticking noise. The car sounds find engine wise but will NOT shift out of park and the ticking goes away if you do not have the headlights on or if you do have the headlights on you can open the glove compartment and the ticking stops. There is nothing in it so nothing in the glove box is causing the ticking noise. The car will not shift however and who wants to drive with the glove box open jsut to use the headlights in a car that won't move.
So tell me what is up did someone feed it after midnight or does the light really bother it?
Help please before I go blowing my entire bank account to keep my chic getter.
