Hi, I`m having a problem with my car - it started 3 weeks ago - my stereo started to give me a message saying "not connected" when I was playing audio through my CD disc changer, and this persisted a while - normally when I would first turn on the vehicle.
I would not be able to control the CD playback or switch between discs, and to overcome this problem - I would switch to radio and wait a while then by the time I switched back - it was resolved.
The problem would sometimes let the disc skip and fast forward. but most of the time while these periods would occur, you could still listen to the music - but not control the playback itself.
The problem now evolved as of 2 days ago into the stereo freezing in one position, the screen remaining illuminated regardless of the car being on or off - and the track not changing, the deck being non-responsive and uncontrollable, whether it be controlling playback, switching between inputs or turning the deck on or off.
I have tried removing the disc changer, as the problem seems to be caused by it, doing this has done nothing. Also, whenever you shut the car off or the deck, the rear external antenna should retract, it has stayed in the erect position for the last 3 days since the issue got to this level.
