Computer problem
2006 Jaguar S-Type V8

My check engine light keeps coming on with a "Low Vapor Fault". I swapped out the fuel cap with a genuine Jag one. Light still comes on. I put it on a lift here on the base and looked at all the fuel vent lines and they look perfect. No cuts or cracks or odd bends. I'm not sure where the sensor is though. I've got the S-Type R. Anybody know where the sensor is on this thing? After I clear the fault, it will return in a day or two.

I believe the sensor you are refering to is the fuel tank pressure sensor. I highly doubt this is the fault. These fuel tanks have been known to leak around the fuel pump openings. Even though you don't have a fuel leak, the seal may have shrunk/swollen but most likely the tank has deformed from the fuel/vapours. That is what I've found on several of these. However, it could be a malfunctioning vent valve (also called a close valve) or a purge solenoid. This type of problem may be best diagnosed at a Jaguar dealership. It shouldn't take them anymore than 1-1.5 hrs to diag. with a smoke tester.
