Battery went dead. Now after jump starting and turning the ignition off, there is a beeping that occurs every 4 seconds or so. Have no idea how to turn it off, but afraid it will eventually run down the battery again.
One email(gasoholic) suggested removing a fuse beneath the steering column to solve the problem. Not sure which fuse corresponds to this beeping.
Any suggestions??

Hi there, i would start with a diagnostic scan just to check that the battery problem did not trigger a system fault anywhere, start here.

Mark,
I'm confused by your response. What is a diagnostic scan and how do I perform it?

Evidently this is a common problem with the XJS Jaguars, and not specific to my vehicle. See my original question. One owner suggested disabling by removing a fuse but I'm not sure if this would work or which fuse to pull.
