1965 Jaguar S-Type 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Can anyone supply a diag. of or describe how to assemble the glovebox catch for classic s type Jag. There appear to be only 3 interna components but I cannot ge them together so it works. The spring arms seem to slip off button push and jam it. Am I missing a part or just thick !

Our data base dose not go back that far, these are one of those things that if i had it in my hand i feel that i could see what was wrong, so what to do... do you have a jag car club in your local area? maybe a jag dealer will have a tech that knows the older jags, or may be a general mechanic can see first hand where you are going wrong, this question will remain open in the public forum so other Jag owners may be able to pick it up and help you, if i come across any info i will post it.
