If I disconnect the battery overnight and disengage the fuel pump. I hook up the battery reset the fuel pump with the button in the trunk and it will start up and runs for about four or five minutes and then it just stalls out and shuts off and then it will not restart. this car was just recently in an accident and I repaired the hood the radiator, bumper, core support and fuse box under the hood. The car ran good for about fifteen miles I shut it off restarted it and drove another ten miles with no problems. the next day it would not start unless i reset the fuel pump and disconnect the battery . But the fuel pump reset button has never been triggered or popped up. I manually just popped it up and then press the back down. i checked fuses were good and i changed the relay. i do not get it. But i am no mechanic. please help!

recheck your work especially the fuse box part as it may not be getting good contact and shorting out. then check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it. See link.

normally you replace the filter when you do the pump. I would only think the filter is bad if it was down a pound or two but that is not always the case. it you have to keep resetting inertia switch then i'd say there is a short so check both.
