My trooper is having a shifting issue in first gear. From a dead stop it slips out of first into what what seems to be neutral and then back into first before shifting to second gear. I'm not sure if this is the Range sensor causing this or something more serious. The transmission isn't old at all it only has 15000 miles on it and service was done very recently. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to check shift linkage. It is a possibility that that is the problem.

How so? There's not much to adjust under there as far as shift linkage.
