hi i have a izusu trooper which will only go into drive when cold within about a minit this hapens an no gears will engage

The only thing that you can do is to check the oil level & condition, short of this it will have to be inspected by a transmission specialist, as they will have the special tools to do a full diagnosis on this problem.

hi yes oil and condition is good but ive been told there may be a oil filter in the gearbox would that be so thanks

Take the pan off and the filter or strainer is there, i do not feel that this will be your problem.
