2001 Isuzu Rodeo Question Popping sounds when making slow sh

I've recently had a bunch of work done on my rodeo - transmission rebuild, cv boots replaced. It's starting to make a noise more often now and we thought replacing the cv boots - which really needed to be done anyway - would fix the noise problem. But it has not. When I make a sharp turn, like into a parking space, or going through a drive through, it makes a loud pop. Initially my mechanic - who rebuilt my transmission, thought that this could be due to the CV boots needing to be replaced. Which made sense to me because it only happens when I'm making a hard turn, and at a very slow speed. I had a tire fixed and the guy told me I need new shocks. I'm hoping replacing the shocks could fix this noise?? But I'm afraid it could be something worse. I've put a ton of money into my rodeo recently and I plan to keep it. I'm really hoping this isn't a huge problem. Any ideas?? I'm worried. Thank you!
