My check transmission light has been flashing for several months now. I got a new transmission just a few months before the light started flashing. The car runs perfect The check transmission light seems to only come on at random times. Sometimes it won't come on for a week. When it does come on so does the check engine light but not flashing. So I took it back to the mechanic that put the transmission in a few days ago. He said that the code showed shifting problems so he performed a transmission service and the light went away. Well, today that darn check transmission light started flashing again. What could cause this? What should my next step be? I need to register my car and with this check transmission light issue I CANNOT pass my smog test. Help! Thank you.
