Transmission problem
2001 Isuzu Rodeo Question Four Wheel Drive Automatic 80,200 miles

I just purchased my Isuzu yesterday, and it runs great, looks great, and very clean, EXCEPT when I start to excelerate from stop lights, or just before it stops its bumps, knocks or jerks a little. Is this a transmission problem, and could it be fixed possibly by adding or changing the fluid. Help! I do have a 30 day warrantee on the transmission. I did have one mechanic lookat it and he thinks it is the trans. but there is no way to get into the fluid area?? Is that true?

Hello,

Since it only seems to do it when you first take off or when slowing here are a couple possibilities....

Shift solenoid - 1st - 2nd

U-Joint

or

CV Axle

I also have a 2001 Rodeo. And I LOVE it! I've had it since 2003. It did that little 'bump' kind of thing and it's done it forever. When I first bought it, I was worried. So I called Isuzu and they said it's a normal thing. Then I talked to another guy with an isuzu (at the gas station - he happened to be filling up at the same time). He said his does that too. I think it's an Isuzu thing. I recently have had an issue with my transmission. But this is 7 years after I bought it and I have not had any other issues with it this whole time. Other than the A/C has had an issue for the past year or so. But I love my Rodeo. I think you should call the Isuzu people. Probably listed in the manual. But I was told it's normal. And like I said, I have had no issues up until a couple months ago and I've had my Rodeo for 7 years.
