2001 Isuzu Rodeo Question Air Conditioning won't turn on

I have an 2001 Isuzu Rodeo with 161,000 miles on it. The air conditioner quit working several months ago. I had the freon checked which was full. The problem is the air conditioner will not click on. I think it is problem with the switch but not sure. I changed the fuse in the door panel but that didn't correct the problem either. I also wondered if there might be an inline fuse but don't know. Before I take it in, I was hoping there was someone that could help me solve this problem without spending alot of money at the mechanics.
