I was told that my rear wheel drive vehicle needed the calipers replaced (front)... I have heard minor squeaking, not much at all. they said the back only needed pads.
then I was told by someone else to only replace the break pads. is it dangerous not to replace the calipers? i am totally taken advantage of at all auto shops I go to for some reason. I am not sure what to believe.
Please advise..thanks!

the only reason to replace a brake caliper is if it has frozen, which means the piston in the caliper is constantly pushing on pads and forcing them into the rotors. you would definitely feel this while driving because the front brakes would be trying to hold the vehicle back.
