Gentlemen; I have a '95 Rodeo that has me stumped. I've pulled the thermostat. The radiator has been flushed and flows freely. It doesn't really get hot at idle, but overheats quickly during/after quick excelerations. There's no mix between coolant, oil or exhaust (as far as I can tell). I filled the system and disconnected the upper radiator hose... there's little to no water moving at idle but it does surge some coolant when the engine is rev-ed. Shouldn't it be moving more coolant at idle? Is it possible for the pump blades to be worn away? I've never had a pump fail before without leaking.
