1991 Isuzu Rodeo Question clunks when cold.

Was any atempt made to retrieve for trouble codes?

When the Trans shop serviced the trans, they first hooked it up and said everything came up fine (which they said sur[prised them considering there apparently is an inordinatel amount of electronics on the 91 Rodeo)

Under such circumstances, you would have to hook up diagnostic equipments and go for a test drive. Note the data stream when problem occurs and check if any is out of spcec.
