trooper lights come on at 35 degrees F

There are similiar problems that I have like yours. OFten it was a contact that would move from the cold. I would try swapping the relay with another one of the same to see if it stops-but watch for problems on the other circuit, may be in the comibination switch also. I don't know that this will work, but worth a try. Take a hairdryer and run it over the suspected areas when this problem is happening. You don't want to "cook" anything, but warn it. The combination switch may take a little longer to react if it is the problem as it is buried and protected from the column. The relay would be easy to check this way.
