My car buring lot of coolant and gas

I have Isuzu Rodeo, year 2000 and has 113,000 mileage. Couple year ago I got in accident and radiator got damaged and I drove couple months (got hot couple time and coolant got empty)then replace radiator. Last week all coolant is gone then lot of white smoke come only certain times. The engine got really hot when coolant is burn out. Now, lot of smoke come out when I drive and eat up more gas then normal. Please tall me whet is problem.

Whenever you have a coolant leak, you check for a)Hoses, 2) radiator cracks, and 3)Water pump.

The upper and lower radiator hose should be looked at first, and definitely the radiator to identify where the leak is coming from.

I showed my car to a mechnic told me that 'my car have problem with the head gasget' new you are sayting that it could have problem with the water pump. I was going to get head gasget fixed but new I'm confused because you are saying it could be water pump. Another qestions is should I fix water pump and see take care of a problem. If not then try head gasget because it's very expensive to repair head gasget then water pump.

Ok, If you get a head gasket leak diagnosis, ALWAYS get a second opinion since, as you know, they are pricey.

Also, a head gasket leak will often manifest itself with the following symptoms which you can often check for yourself:

Start with the obvious; Add dye to your coolant, and have a mechanic shine a blacklight after a cleaning of your engine/underbody to determine the source of the leak, and then of course, look for white smoke (sign of burning coolant; ie, Blue/Gray smoke is burning oil) and go on from there.
