96 rodeo "check engine" light

my check engine light just came on. I tried resetting it by pulling fuses, but it just came back on.....
there does not seem to be a change in engine sound or performance otherwise, do i need to get it checked out?

That will help a little, but you do need to get it looked at. The emission system has a problem that needs to be diagnosed.
