1998 Isuzu Rodeo Back Door operatino

I am again asking about the 1998 v6 Isuzu rodeo back door operation. My back door (new rebuilt engine with only 12,000 miles on it) will not open...can't get it to open with key or lock release.

What do I do? I would gladly give a small donation (I don't make much and am single) if I could get a viable answer to this dilema.

Are you saying that you can manually raise the lock knob and it still won't open? Does that knob go up and down when you use the power locks?
If the answer is yes to both of those then are you handy with a screwdriver (might take a torx bit also)?
I'd take the back lower panel off on the inside, it looks like it's held on by 6 screws.
On a lot of cars the locking rods (the one that goes to the knob and another possibly to the solenoid) could pop out of their holders.
Well, after second thought if the knob moves when using the power locks it should be connected properly.
Either way I would think your best access to the mechanism is through that panel.

Thank you for your suggestions - although the back panel door on an Isuzu does not have a lock that goes up and down like the side doors. It has a button lock in which a key is inserted and turned / normally using the automatic release lock system would be the easiest way to unlock the door but this does not seem to affect the back door at this time.

Since I cannot get the door open - I cannot get to all the points to take off the back door panel... I am still in the same dilema at this point - can't get it open - can't get to the whole thing to remove the panel as a result..
