Scenario:
It takes 30-40 seconds with the ignition key in the On/Start position before the starter responds and turns over the engine. I sometimes hear a muffled clicking noise coming from behind the passenger side dash during the start delay. After the car has run for a time and is turned off, the car will immediately start. If set over a period of time, such as 8hrs while at work, the car again does not respond for 30-40 seconds before it turns over and starts. While the car is running there are no problems. The time it takes for the car to respond to the ignition seems to be getting longer.
