Sometimes when I get my car up to say 3000 rpms and shift the rpms stay the same and go crazy high when I hit the gas. If im in cruise then push the clutch in, expecting to have slow down for the guy in front of me, then let out of the clutch and hit resume cruise itll redline if I dont catch it quick enough. Ive had someone say they think its the clutch but hes not very reliable. If so what do I need to get? Ive looked up an oem exedy clutch set for $150, figured I might as well do the slave if im already there but not sure if its internal or not, i seen on some threads that the pilot bearing was needed but i looked it up at the parts store and all it showed was a universal so idk if i have that or not. Can anyone tell me what I need 100% if thats even it?

From a stand still or moving? I did it with 5th the other day before work and had it about 85% released before it started to stall

Alright so its weird. Not sure if this is normal or not. Last night i left and went a few miles to my other apartment and when i came back i was just revving in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th before it finally kicked in enough to get me moving. Then i stopped at a stop and heard a loud explosion and the smell of something burning and still no clutch so i parked it. Then this morning i hopped in it and you wouldn't even be able to tell there was a clutch problem. It had balls and was ready to go.

well your clutch may be on it's last leg then or the release bearing is going to push through the pressure plate. if that happens your pedal will go to floor but clutch will still beable to move the car . but won't be able to shift. Also there are rare instances where the crankshaft thrust bearing wears out and crank shaft move to and fro to far effecting clutch operation.

before you start replacing parts uneccessarily have a local pro take a look at this the kit shoud have a disc plate and release bearing pilot should be replaced and look for bentk/broken release arm or wornout at bearing.
