A/C stopped working, the compressor clutch disintegrated (melted). Trying to determine if the internal parts are bad meaning replacing condenser, etc.
I have the replacement compressor but trying to determine if I have to replace the other items.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

That's a good question. Do you know what caused the clutch to melt down? Did the compressor lock up? If it did, then I would replace the parts you mentioned above. However, flush the system.

Let me know if that helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Not sure what caused it, it started as air not cooling well (appeared to need a charge). But the next day it made noise and started to smell.

The garages show the system is still fully charge, wouldn’t it be low if the compressor internals parts messed up?
This is my daughter’s car, just got married and I’m trying to fix it before they come home from honeymoon.

Welcome back:

For the clutch to burn up, I would think the compressor was locking up. That is where I would start. I suspect the compressor locked up, caused the clutch to burn up or you were smelling the belt.

I have to be honest, when you do this type of repair, I would replace the parts you mentioned earlier. Also, I would have the system flushed to make sure there is no debris in it.

If you want to do it yourself, I can provide the directions. Let me know. And congrats on the newlyweds.

Take care,
Joe
