intermittent grind sound when braking front left?

If both inner and outer pads are good, then the next thing I would check is the dust shield behind the brake rotor. Make sure nothing on the shield is rusted or bent and touching the rotor.

If that checks good, it could be a bearing issue. Are you noticing humming or speed-related sounds other than what you mentioned? Pay close attention when making turns to see if you hear anything.

Not hearing anything at all while driving just had 4 tires installed as well it sounds amazing when driving I only hear this when approaching a stop but closer to the full stop and it doesn’t happen all the time. I’ll check for the dust shield tomorrow but from what I saw when the tires were being out on it didn’t seem as if it were hitting the rotor in any type of way.

Check to make sure. It isn't uncommon for people to catch the dust cover with the wheel when they are removing it or replacing it.

Also, how old are the brakes?

Brakes are about 4 months old with plenty of life left.

If there is nothing that you can find, it could be the brake pads themselves. I don't know what brand you used, or the shop used, but I have installed inexpensive pads that would make noise constantly.
