The car worked fine till it was parked for about 4 months.then when we went to start it it would not start(crank but no start). After trying it several times it finally started. Then I noticed that the fuel pump was not working when i tried to start it unless I turned it from the on to the run position several times or sometimes left in the run position for awhile then tried to start it. Once it would start it wouldn't give us any problems starting again for most of the day. Then when it sat for a long period(over night)it would do the same thing no crank but no start till I played with it for awhile 5 to 10 min.. So I replaced the fuel pump relay but that didn't change anything. Now I have a no crank no start situation unless I tap the starter solenoid then it will crank but won't start. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

If tapping the solenoid allows it to start I would start there. It sounds like you may have corrosion and a bad connection or more that are causing you problems.
I would probably start by disconnecting the battery. Then pull and re-seat all the fuses and relays. Clean the battery connections and make sure it's fully charged. Then you have a starting point. I would also check the wiring for any rodent damage. Mice like to chew insulation off the wires.
