Interior door handle replacement

The plastic on my interior driver side door handle broke off and the door handle no longer works. The locks and exterior door handle work just fine. How can I replace that? Is it easy to do at home? How much would it cost for a mechanic to repair, if I bought the part myself?

You are going to have to remove the door panel and then you will see how the handle comes off.
