Where is the mileage stored in the car listed above? If I purchase a used cluster, will it reflect my stored mileage, or the mileage from the "new" cluster?
I thought I was prepared to replace this myself, but am getting conflicting answers regarding the mileage.

Can it be corrected after installation of the "new" cluster? Is this costly?

Hello, I'm Danny.

Unfortunately, the vehicle data is stored in the ECM-PCM. That is the engine control module or powertrain control module. You can't just plug in a new (or used) instrument cluster and have your current vehicle information displayed including the odometer. You will have to have the replacement instrument cluster reflashed to show the current mileage for it to be correct. Most shops can do it to avoid going to a Chrysler dealership but you should be prepared to pay for at least 1 hours worth of shop labor. Most shop labor these days is $100.00 an hour depending on the area you live. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thanks so much for putting my question to rest!! Can this be done after installation, or is it necessary to "reflash" first?

Cheers!
