I have the vehicle listed above with a 7.4l Vortex. I have replaced the distributor and crank sensor. The truck with not start but has spark and is in time. When cranking the truck hits but will not start for 3 seconds or so then just cranks then doesn’t try to hit and just cranks. The fuel pump relay was burnt, and I replaced it and still has the same problem. Any suggestions?

Will the engine run if you use starting fluid? If so, can you hear the fuel pump in the tank run when you turn the key on but not start? It sounds like you have a bad fuel pump which will cause the fuel pump relay to burn up. Here is how to replace the fuel pump, use AC Delco parts. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Will the engine run on starting fluid? It sounds like you have a shorted injector which will shut down the PCM injector driver but to be sure remove the injectors wires and then check the pulse, if it returns let's test the injectors to find the one that is shorted, this guide can help:

Are there any codes, let's run the PCM to find out here is a guide for that as well:

Please go over these guides and report back.
