My air conditioner stopped working very abruptly. I turned it on when leaving school and I smelled something like a wire burning. No air blows out of the vents at all. About 6 months ago, the air conditioner started blowing on high only, temperature has always been fine until today. I am scared to death that a mechanic will charge me for a new system so I really need your advice. Please help....thanks!
