service engine soon light - fuel svce link?

Hi - I own a 2003 Infiniti i35 (approx 77000 miles) - just had an oil change plus fuel injection service. My service engine light is going on. Went back to mechanic, diagnostics showed nothing - he turned the light off, figuring it was the sensor. Two days later, light going on again. My husband suggests there may be a link between Fuel Injection Service and the light going on. Says I should go through 2 tanks of gas to resolve the issue. Is this common? Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

Actually, your husband could be correct. Some cars dont like the PCV Valve being too loose and will cause the check engine light to go on. Being as popping the PCV valve off is part of the usual fuel injector service have him check that. On the other hand, I wouldnt point fingers, have the mechanic check the sensor if he thinks its just the sensor, he is a mechanic after all.

Thanks KaMo for your thoughts - having had the light shut off by this mechanic twice, it now looks like one of the sensors (possibly intake? or something else) could need replacing. Looks like I may have to go to the dealer to be sure. Something I wanted to avoid -it would be so nice to have someone locally that I could use rather than drive 45 to an hour to a dealer that is going to rip me off as usual.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
