i have a 94 j30 that i am trying to get through emissions here in az. i failed the gas cap test and replaced it now my nox is failing. i have replaced the egr valve, the gas cap and still failed with a higher reading on the nitrogen. could the cataletic conv. be a problem? please dont tell me i have to replace the knock sensor! any help will greatly apperciated. thanks

Could be the catalytic converter or a computer controllerd system thats locked-up in the open loop mode-

Did you clean up the EGR passages thoroughly and EGR valve functioning as designed?

yes i did check and clean the tubes as best i could. this was a real bitch. it would have been eaiser to pull the motor out to get to the egr valve. the car belongs to my step-son so money is tight. what would you recommend be the next step without to much money. i do have a code scanner but there has been no warning lights or check engine. should i check for any codes that might be stored but not ilumanating? the egr is new
