How do you replace the thermastat on 2000 Infiniti I30. Do I need to take anything else off from the engine other than the top hose coming from the radiator?

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the undercover.
Drain the coolant from the radiator and both sides of the cylinder block. Properly dispose the coolant.

NOTE
Be sure the engine is cold before draining the radiator. Do not allow coolant to spill on the drive belts.

Remove the air duct and air cleaner case.
Remove the front water drain plug on the water pump side of the cylinder block.
Disconnect the lower radiator hose and oil cooler hose from the water inlet and thermostat assembly.
Remove the water inlet and thermostat assembly.

NOTE
Do not disassemble the water inlet and thermostat assembly. Replace them as a unit, if required.

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Be sure to refill the cooling using the proper grade and type engine coolant.
Start the engine and check for leaks.
Start the engine and allow it to reach operation temperature. Recheck the coolant level, fill as required.
