1997 Infiniti I30 Stuck in 3th gear

I have a 1997 ihfinite i30 with automatic transmission but it start up in grear and will not change I manuel put it in 1 no change 2 no change I put it in drive it start slow but catch up fast and then I just float along with the speedometer saying 80-85 with my RPM at 4 Is my transmission gone. oh yeah my check engine light is on and reverse work good how can i fix this

dont panic. first of all stop driving vehicle around. have the computer scanned for codes, autozone will do this for free. you might just have a bad speed sensor causing the transmission to go into failsafe, this is normal. get back to us after you have the codes.

Get these sensors checked out coolant temperature/throttle position/vehicle speed sensors -it inputs signals to the computer as an indications of throttle/governor pressures and overdrive in a given temp. -and in turn commands the transmission solenoids to upshift/downshift/lock-up and so on-

Sensors ruled out-get the transmission pressure tested to identify internal problems.

1605 internal communication problem with the TCM and ECM.

P0110 an intake air temperature sensor problem
P0600 communication link error.

Double check the battery connection-and wiring to the transmission-might want to rescan the transmission control module.
