2002 Infiniti G20 can't shift out of park

my g20 sport started causing me problems, when i start the car and press down on the brake the shifter doesn't want to unlock to let me shift out of park. i have to hold the brake down for a while or pump it and hold it and wait to hear that click unlocking it but i have to act fast or it locks back up.
anyone have any idea what's causing that?

Inspect and test the brake switch its part of the shift interlock system-could be the shift lock control solenoid acting up.
