after being parked out in the rain, my high beams went out after i drove away only about a block, but the lows were still working. the next day, while driving the battery light came on and then all heck broke loose. the wipers kicked on to super high by themselves then quit, the radio made a loud buzz and went out, the entire dash including gauges went out, the windows and door locks were the only electrical stuff still working. this all happened while i was going down the road and the car kept running. After some investigating, we found a blown 75 amp fuse link, and the 2nd wire coming off the positive battery terminal was fried. The high beam portion of the headlamp bulbs were blown, and multiple fuses in the car were blown as well. also, the flasher unit was ruined. after replacing all the fuses and links, we still keep blowing the 10 amp electronic ignition fuse. what is a likely cause for all of this, and why do you think we keep blowing the 10 amp ele. ign. fuse

the batt is @ 11.96 volts, with the engin running the output off the alternator is only 11.16 volts. Is that too low, shouldent it be @ 12 or better?

Yes battery voltage and alt. output to low. Battery e at rest must be no lower than 12.45V and alt output should be between 14.5 to 15.3V. Low system voltage will caues relays to drop out and will draw high amps causing fuse to blow.
