1993 Infiniti G20 Radiator overheats

I must have lost touch because I have not heard of such a thing.

Run engine and switch on AC, if the fan runs they are ok.

Bless you and many thanks. Almost $200 later, they said it was 2 gaskets and a thermostat. I thought a hose busted. At least the charges didn't include the questionable "diagnostics." I think he was checking my knowledge base.

My rpm needle still wildly bounces when the engine is cold - but I did't tell them about it. It's an old, but very well maintained car. It's bound to have a few quirks.

The guy was rather condescending. When I dropped the car off and picked it up, he thought it was great sport to keep me waiting for no good reason. He wouldn't even acknowledge my presence. Even when another staffer tried to assist me, he insisted he would take care of me. I still waited and waited. I probably won't use them again. Besides the trust issue, I should not be poorly treated. I shouldhn't have to feel I need a gun toting man to make the mechanics behave. Were this not an emergency, I certainly wouldn't have used them. I won't recommend them either.

Glad that you have solved your problem and sad that we again have another case on the bad side of professionalism.

Fluctuating idling during cold start normally are associated with the idling system and could have been solved without much difficulty.

Wonder why they did not try to sell you more which would be justified as it is a problem.

Bless you and thanks - I'll most likely take it and your suggestions to my trusted mechanic. I did run the a/c and engine - the fan worked fine. Most likely, I was right, it was a broken or loose hose. Antifreeze was splattered towards the engine and leaked on the ground. They indicated it bubbled up because the car overheated. My instinct tells me far too much antifreeze was on the ground for a bubble over. Oh well - you are correct - $200 isn't too bad.
