Hello,

This means the immobilizer unit is having a problem and does not keep its memory. This will need to be replaced and programmed by a shop or some can be found online as a kit.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Hello,
In my passat the immo unit is included in cluster instruments (ref:8831129924 code barre : 110 080 198/002 ce 0682) it is an immobilizer III. My question is:
What part needs replacement?

There are alarm control modules in all of the doors along with a central controller along with a module in the instrument cluster. I have heard of the drivers door module going out.

Lets start by checking the system fuses which there are five.

Here is a guide and the alarm wiring and fuse panel locations to help us get started testing:

and

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Hello mr ken, concerning my model of car described above are you sure about this "There are alarm control modules in all of the doors along with a central controller along with a module in the instrument cluster"?.
From what i read on the net i understood that there is any relation between alarm, door lock system and immobilizer III on vw passat 2002 b5.5.

Yes the have broken the system up into many controllers not just one centralized unit. You can see by the wiring diagrams how the system is set up. If I had to make a prediction I would say the drivers door module is out because they get the most abuse.

By saying yes, you mean that alarm, door lock and immobolizer systems have relationship? .
I said this cause some people think that the Alarm and door lock systems are completly managed by CCM module wich is situated under the driver's seat unlike the immobilizer system wich is situated on cluster instruments.
However you saw right, my car show, from time to time, rear door lock system issue.
Regards.

Yes you can tell by the wiring diagrams they are all connected the CCM under the drivers seat but the drivers door module goes through the most abuse naturally.

Hi Mr ken, let's suppose the folowing hypothesis:
H0: a faulty driver door lock system cause "immobilizer active" issue.
H1: a faulty driver door lock system doesn't cause immobilizer active issue.
If i desconnect driver door lock system and immobilizer active issue disappear then H0 is true, else H1 is true.
H: hypothesis.
Are you ok?.
I'll do this and i'll be back.
Regards.
