Replacing the ignition switch module, immobilizer, and lock cylinder, can a Locksmith conduct reprograming?

I’m replacing ignition switch module, immobilizer, and ignition cylinder on this car I just bought. The car had been broken into and they messed all of it up. The ignition lock cylinder where the key actually goes in is completely messed up. And I wanted to know if a locksmith would be able to code a new one to my original key without the old cylinder since the pins/tumblers are all messed up. Also, I know now that the immobilizer will have to be programmed but I’m wanting to know who will be able to do that. Will an auto locksmith be able to do this if I have one located near me and if I have the 4 digit code that’s needed for those kinds of things or is that specifically a dealership job. And again, I’m replacing everything in the attached photo.

Hello,

Most of the time a good locksmith is able to do exactly what you want done.
You will have to get the immobilizer code from the dealership and provide it to the locksmith (unless of course they have the ability to access that info).
To get the code you will have to show proof of ownership at the dealership (typically your title), and they will provide you with the code.

Okay, great. I have one more question. Can I go ahead and replace everything I said above and put it back together then see an auto locksmith or dealership to have immobilizer and or a new key programmed right? I’ll most likely get the new lock cylinder coded to my original key then put everything back together. That way all that is needed is for locksmith or dealership worker to program the immobilizer.

Right, as long you get the new components coded/programmed it will work.
So yes, if you choose you can install the components and have them do the programming, that will be just fine.
However, you might want to call and verify that they are willing to do that as many places like to do the install and the programming.
