I'm wondering if I unplug the cam position sensor. Shouldn't the motor shut off? I have replaced the mass air flow sensor and the map air flow sensor, throttle body, fuel filter and replaced the intake manifold seals, new plugs and have changed the coil packs out. Also, I have replaced the O2 sensor. The engine is an Inline 6-cylinder motor.

Nope, the engine will run with the camshaft sensor unplugged because the computer will substitute a value for the sensor called a default. When you remove the spark plugs are they dry like no fuel is getting to them? If so, you may have a shorted injector that is shutting down the PCM injector driver or the PCM is bad, but to be sure let's test the voltage at the injector and the ground trigger.

This guide can help:

Also, does the engine misfire at idle, under power, all the time? This guide can help with that as well:

and codes?

Please go over these guides and report back.
