The key got locked in the ignition switch?

We were able to remove it. Got a new ignition and key. Put it on. We noticed the dash does not light up at all with the new ignition and key. We tried to follow the 3-step cycle for the re program without the light flashing. But it did not work.

So, there is a gear that needs to be reset within the switch when you are replacing the ignition lock, or the switch will be fully activated. Here are the instructions on how to correctly replace the switch. Also, when you installed the new switch was the key programmed before installation. Check out the images (below).
