Hey Folks! Someone busted into my Tibby and damaged the ignition lock cylinder. I managed to drop the steering column to get to it, but I can't get it to release. (Pic). I've watched every video I can. The problem is that the key as well as the key cylinder is damaged so I can't turn it to the ACC setting to release cylinder.

Is it possible to just do an "end run" and install a keyless ignition kit? It won't look so great, but it will get the thing going. I can't pour too much money into it because of its age...

Thanks so much,

Steve

I don't see the images. Here are the instructions on how to change out the ignition lock, I don't think a keyless ignition will work, did you find a kit or something? It looks like the lock is in the dash, correct? You might be able to unplug the old switch and just install the new one, but it will be in a new position. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
