Hey Guys, I just ordered a part from a supplier in Arizona because the dealer said it is discontinued but I was able to get the contact for this supplier through the dealer. Anyway, the part I ordered was a ignition cylinder housing and one of the plastic pieces was broken that appears to go in where the ignition cylinder would go. My question is, do I need this piece or is it a dust cover or something? Please let me know. I have attached a photo of what it should look like and the one that I received.

Hello,

Unfortunately you do need that black plastic piece. It actually engages the cylinder. So yes have them send you the replacement.
Thanks.

okay, thank you. So the back two pieces on the other side I have installed and are in tact but it's the long cylinder piece that was broken on the tip, it's the one that is shaped like the actual key cylinder. I guess my other question is, how would your ignition cylinder fit into the cavity of the housing if that long piece is in there?

yes, thank you. so it appears that plastic piece 1 of the 3 that comes with the housing is not being used. It appears he used a long screwdriver to engage it which I'm not sure why you couldn't use the ignition cylinder itself since its the same shape. thank you for this video.

It is strange why would they use a screwdriver to engage. Maybe they found it easier, who knows.
Keep me posted on any questions you might have.
