Ignition switch connector rod is broken. Can it be replaced without having to replace the entire upper bracket? If the upper bracket must be replaced how is this accomplished

if rod isi inside steering column it's going to be tougher and if a tilt wheel worse. see pic for lock cylinder. car may need reprogramming after doing this so it will start.

Hello

Here are instruction and diagrams below.

Disconnect battery ground cable.
Turn ignition switch to ``ACC'' position.
Insert a small diameter rod into hole located on side of lock cylinder, then while holding down pin, remove lock cylinder, Fig. 6.
Reverse procedure to install. Ensure lock cylinder is in ``ACC'' position.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
