if one secondary air injection pump fails, do i need to replace the entire system? a mechanic told me that, if a pump fails, it floods the air system with a foam and you need to replace the entire air injection system. i had codes p2433 and p2445. he suggested 2 air pumps, 2 switching valves, pipe for air pumps, hoses w/clamps, gaskets for switching valves.

Hi,

The P2433 indicates an issue with the pressure sensor (high voltage). That can be caused by a faulty sensor, an air leak in the hoses, or even the ECM.

Note the code P2445 indicates the pump is stuck off. I would start by checking the wiring to the pump as well as the connector. Additionally, there could be a leak at one of the hoses, so they should be checked as well. (see pic below)

Next, I'm not sure what he means by foam goes throughout the system. If that was the case, it would create additional issues.

Let me know.

Joe
