vehicle idles high even after warming up and has an odor only while idling. The odor does not smell like oil.

Good morning,

This could be from either the throttle body being dirty or the idle air control valve which is very common.

I would start by cleaning the throttle body of all carbon residue.

Beyond that, I would replace the idle air control valve as that was a very common issue for high idling.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the IAC valve:
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the two bolts, the IAC valve and the gasket.

NOTE: Discard the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
