Idles, but shuts off when transmission is shifted into gear?

Hi,

Have you checked to make sure there are no engine vacuum leaks? Also, have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes?

This vehicle has an OBD1 system that doesn't require a scan tool to retrieve codes. Here is a link that explains how it is done. All you will need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip.

So, I got my truck home and finally got to see and hear it for myself and you were right. She has a couple vacuum leaks but her wiring is a complete disaster too. And thanks for the links to the scans link too. I'll be returning to fixing her this morning since the storm slacked off.
