Cranks no spark to the engine

Changed serpentine belt and noticed idler pulley twisted and partially intended in plastic cover which i think is the timing cover. Car cranks over but no spark to engine.

Hi,

Is it possible for you to take a pic and upload it for me to see? Also, how badly did the pulley indent the plastic? The idea that it twisted doesn't make sense because it shouldn't be mounted on plastic. Also, did it run before this happened?
