I lost my key and I need to move the vehicle

More modern vehicle have a release for this purpose but if you don't have the key then you have to remove the shift linkage from the manual lever on the side of the transmission. Once you pop the cable off you just click the lever back two notches for Neutral. Clearly make sure the parking brake is on or the wheels are blocked so it doesn't roll.
